More About StriVectin SD
Q: How does Strivectin SD® work?
A: StriVectin-SD is a deep penetrating, bio-active topical formula originally developed to repair existing stretch marks. However, in a remarkable turn of events, StriVectin-SD also turned out to be the anti-wrinkle breakthrough of the decade! The active formula in StriVectin-SD has recently been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce the appearance of that category of fine lines and facial wrinkles that can add 10-15 years to your appearance… and even reduce the dark circles under your eyes… without irritation, painful injections, or surgery. But that’s not all. StriVectin-SD includes a proprietary combination of skin firming agents, elasticizers, and skin hydrators… adding up to the most comprehensive topical formulation shown to effectively confront virtually every aspect of wrinkle reduction. You’re going to love it!
Q: What were the results of the clinical trials?
A: The active wrinkle-reducing compound in Strivectin-SD was shown to increase collagen I synthesis by 117%, increase collagen IV synthesis by 357%, increase glycosaminoglycan synthesis by 267%, reduce wrinkles by as much as 68%, increase skin firmness, improve the appearance of age spots and dark circles under the eyes, and reduce the actual length, depth, volume, and surface area of wrinkles.
Q: How do I apply Strivectin-SD®?
A: Begin with clean, dry skin. Apply Strivectin-SD at least twice daily (do not exceed three applications per 24-hour period). Use sparingly (StriVectin-SD is a concentrated formula). Massage a small amount of StriVectin-SD into the target area, using a circular motion, until completely absorbed. StriVectin-SD penetrates immediately, leaving your skin youthful, smooth, and silky.
Q: Can I use StriVectin on the wrinkles/circles underneath my eyes?
A: The correct way to apply Strivectin to the eye area is to softly massage it into the skin covering the orbital bone around the eye. Do not apply StriVectin directly underneath the eye or on top of the eyelid.
Q: Can StriVectin help with acne scars and other types of scarring?
A: Yes. Although StriVectin was specifically formulated to help with stretch marks (which are, after all, scars), many StriVectin users have reported improvement in acne scars, burn scars, chicken pox marks, scars from old injuries, etc.
Q: When will I begin to see results?
A: In as little as 28 days, StriVectin-SD’s deep penetrating, clinically proven, bio-active topical formula will produce a visible reduction in the actual length, depth, surface area, and rough texture of your existing wrinkles. That’s right… whether you’ve got “crows’ feet,” “worry lines,” or just plain old wrinkles, Strivectin-SD will begin to eradicate them. You won’t believe the difference!
Q: Does StriVectin-SD® work on old wrinkles?
A: Absolutely! StriVectin-SD works no matter how long you’ve had your wrinkles – whether it’s been ten days or ten years.
Q: Does StriVectin-SD® work on all colors of skin?
A: Yes.
Q: Is StriVectin-SD® safe?
A: StriVectin-SD has been clinically proven to be safe and effective.

One of the recent “hot item” treatments for anti wrinkle cream is StriVectin-SD. The cream (developed to aid in the reduction of stretch marks) has quickly become one of the most popular topically applied creams for anti aging skin care.
Below is information directly from the Strivectin manufacturers site:
Scientific Breakthrough or Dumb Luck?
Although Strivectin SD was already backed by clinical trials documenting its ability to visibly reduce the depth, length, discoloration and roughness of existing stretch marks, the success of Strivectin SD as an anti-wrinkle cream was “dumb luck,” says Gina Gay, spokesperson for Klein-Becker®, Strivectin-SD’s exclusive distributor.
“When we first handed out samples of the Strivectin formula (Striadil) to employees and customers as part of our market research, the sample tubes were simply marked ‘topical cream’ with the lot number underneath,” Ms. Gay explains. “As the samples were passed to friends and family, the message became a little muddled and some people used this ‘topical cream’ as a facial moisturizer. As we began to receive feedback from users, like ‘I look 10 years younger’ and ‘my crows’ feet are gone,’ we knew we had something more than America’s most effective stretch-mark reducer. The point was driven home as store owners began reporting that almost as many people were purchasing Strivectin as an anti-wrinkle cream as were buying it to reduce stretch marks.”
Dr. Daniel B. Mowrey, Klein-Becker’s Director of Scientific Affairs, says, “Clearly, people were seeing results, but we didn’t have a scientific explanation as to why this wrinkle-reduction was occurring. However, based on the incredibly positive reports, I started using it myself –– applying Strivectin to my face after shaving.” Dr. Mowrey adds, “On a personal note, my wife tells me I haven’t looked this good in years.”
Dumb Luck Strikes Again!
Then, on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at a meeting of the 20th World Congress of Dermatology in Paris, France, a series of studies detailing the superior wrinkle-reducing properties of a patented oligopeptide (called Pal-KTTKS) versus retinol, vitamin C, and placebo, on “photo-aged skin” was presented.1,2 “As luck would have it,” Dr. Mowrey states, “the wrinkle-reducing olgigopeptide tested in the breakthrough clinical trials turned out to be a key active ingredient in the Strivectin cream.”
In the trials, subjects applied the patented peptide solution to the crows’ feet area on one side of the face, and a cream containing either retinol, vitamin C, or a placebo to the other side. Subjects in the Pal-KTTKS/retinol study applied the cream once a day for 2 months and then twice a day for the next 2 months. Using special image analysis, the study’s authors reported “significant improvement” in wrinkle depth, length, wrinkle volume, and skin roughness for those women using the peptide solution.
Better yet, at the 2-month halfway point, the peptide solution thickened skin nearly 1.5 times faster than retinol, and without the inflammation retinol often causes in sensitive skin. As was expected, the results of the remaining studies confirmed that the Pal-KTTKS solution’s effectiveness at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles far exceeded both vitamin C and placebo.
Strivectin SD — A smoother, younger complexion, less irritation, fewer wrinkles, and faster results — all without expensive (and painful) peels, implants or injections.
Better than Retinol and Vitamin C, But Is StriVectin SD Better than Botox®*?™
Dr. Nathalie Chevreau, Director of Women’s Health at Salt Lake City based Basic Research®, exclusive distributor for Klein-Becker, explains, “Many researchers believe less invasive cosmetic alternatives are better than Botox [sometimes referred to as Botox® Cosmetic].† That’s because ‘cosmeceutical’ creams and gels offer gradual, continual results, while the effects of injections, facial peels, and dermabrasions wear off… in fact, you’ll never look better than you do shortly after the inflammation and redness subside. Not one bit better.”
“Furthermore,” Dr. Chevreau continues, “Botox has been approved by the FDA for an extremely limited use — the tiny little space of deep furrows between the eyebrows –– and can cause side effects such as ‘headache, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea.’ The active ingredient in Strivectin (Striadil), on the other hand, has been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of that category of fine lines and facial wrinkles (including crows’ feet) that can add 10-15 years to your appearance… the type of fine lines and wrinkles Botox treatments leave behind.” In other words, Strivectin SD helps give you a youthful, healthy, glowing complexion faster than retinol, far superior to vitamin C, and without irritation, needles, or surgery.
So, if you see someone applying an anti-stretch mark cream to their face, don’t think they’ve gone off the deep end…they may be smarter than you think.

Anti-cellulite creams from many leading skin care companies are supposed to help improve the appearance of unsightly cellulite. As you all know cellulite is that dimply, cottage-cheese-looking skin that appears on hips, thighs and buttocks. Age,toxins, poor diet and lack of exercise are all contributing factors.
Is it possible these products made of ingredients such as caffeine, vitamins and green tea extract are the answer for millions who would do almost anything to get rid of that lumpy flesh that leg-lifts can’t conquer and diets can’t kill? Yes, they very well could be.
These kinds of products are popular in Europe and are beginning to take off in the USA. I’m sure you’ve seen displays in department stores and beauty supply companies as well as ads in magazines and newspapers. And many women seem to be taking a chance. Amazingly, 90% of people struggle with cellulite somewhere on their bodies. It can be very frustrating for those of us who knock themselves out with diet and exercise and still can’t reduce the cellulite in some areas of their bodies. Cellulite usually shows up for the first time in puberty, and even though it’s a natural part of growing from a girl into a woman, most of us would like to get rid of it for good. Until recently there weren’t that many choices that actually worked when it came to methods of cellulite removal. Cosmetic surgery is pretty expensive, invasive and potentially dangerous. We all deserve to feel good about ourselves, and when we look your best, we just feel better. Wouldn’t you love to go the beach and in your shorts or bathing suit in total confidence? With the help of a selected few cellulite treatments, you can, and you don’t deserve any less.
One of these products is Cellulite Eraser™ by Body Innoventions.
There are lots of products on the market today but Cellulite Eraser is one of the best. We hope you’ll give it a try and see the amazing results! You might just “beat the cellulite” and gain the confidence to wear your swim suit again with pride!

Stretch marks occur when expanding skin is stretched to its limit and tiny tears appear in the supporting layers of skin. Stretch marks are quite common in pregnancy; about 50-90% of women will get stretch marks on their abdomen, breasts, thighs or buttocks during pregnancy.
What Causes Stretch Marks
Your chances of getting pregnancy stretch marks depend on a number of factors. Family history makes a difference-if your mother got stretch marks, chances are you’ll have them too. Ethnicity is another matter-women with darker skin are less likely to get stretch marks. Weight gain and weight loss can also change the magnitude of your marks. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated, as this will help your skin stretch.
What Can I Do About Stretch Marks?
The best solution for getting rid of stretch marks varies from woman to woman. There are many options available to women seeking to remove stretch marks. Using a cream, like cocoa butter cream, can work by saturating your skin with moisture.
A good way to get rid of stretch marks is to help repair the collagen and elastin growth in your skin. Specially formulated stretch mark creams aim to rebuild the structure and promote the rejuvenation of your skin’s layers. These natural creams contain cocoa butter, wheat germ oil and lanolin to help heal and moisturize your skin. One popular stretch mark cream even offers a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied!
Permanent Solutions
If you are really bothered by your stretch marks, you can always look into plastic surgery for stretch marks. The most common treatment is laser surgery for stretch marks, but don’t be fooled by the name. This is actually an out-patient procedure used in the removal of stretch marks that has little to no recovery period involved.
Alternatively, if you don’t like the sound of a stretch marks laser, you can take advantage of blue light therapy for stretch marks removal. This treatment uses gel and light to remove your stretch marks.
Stretch marks, or striae, occur if you gain more than average weight during your pregnancy or if you have a family history of stretch marks. Ethnicity makes a difference: African-American women are less likely to get stretch marks. For 50-90% of women, pregnancy and stretch marks go hand in hand. Pregnancy stretch marks are also the most common form of stretch marks.
On light-skinned women, the marks will appear red or pinkish. Darker-skinned women will notice that their stretch marks are lighter than the surrounding skin. They may appear on your abdomen, buttocks, breasts or thighs.
Prevention
Stretch marks prevention will save you the trouble of getting rid of stretch marks once they’ve occurred. Stretch marks occur because the collagen and elastin that bind your skin are stressed during weight gain, resulting in tears in your skin’s elastic fibers. You can help prevent stretch marks by keeping your skin supple, soft and smooth. This can be accomplished with the aid of creams and lotions. The best cream, of course, is one that’s specialized for stretch marks, as it will help the elasticity of your skin.
How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks
Are you self-conscious about stretch marks? Did you experience loss of weight and stretch marks? Interested in how to remove stretch marks? Do some models have stretch marks? You bet. You probably won’t see them in magazines due to the aid of software that ‘erases’ such details in photos. Unfortunately, every-day life precludes your use of this software, but don’t despair-there are many methods that get rid of stretch marks.
There is no one magical cure for stretch marks. The best way to remove stretch marks may be a combination of treatments. Some creams require a stricter method of application, so shop around before you commit your money.
At Home Treatment for Stretch Marks
Stretch Mark Creams. Red and white stretch marks got you blue? Many women use speically formulated creams made with cocoa butter, vitamin E and lanolin to help them get rid of stretch marks. Cocoa butter is a thick and natural moisturizer. Many cocoa butter creams come with a combination of ingredients that get rid of stretch marks. In combination with vitamin E and collagen and elastin, a cocoa butter cream will work wonders.
Covering Stretch Marks. If you need to cover stretch marks because they haven’t begun to fade, there are several companies that make stretch mark cover-up. These make-ups come in colors for all skin types. Look for make-up that is moisturizing to help work at fading stretch marks while covering them up.
Plastic Surgery for Stretch Marks. Plastic surgeries, such as laser treatments are an effective way of permanently getting rid of stretch marks. Although cosmetic can be costly, it is a quick and efficient treatment for stretch marks.

What is dry skin?
Dry skin occurs when water and natural oils are lost from the skin’s top layers. Oil acts as a barrier to prevent the skin losing water, therefore one needs both oil and water to prevent dry skin.
Dry skin conditions can be inherited or they could be due to environmental factors like sun exposure or cold, dry air. Dry skin condition intensifies as you get older.
When the skin is dry it is felt as tight and flaky. Pores aren’t visible and the skin looks dull. Dry itchy skin also feels rough. Dry skin makes you feel as if you are wearing a mask.
Another name for dry skin is xerosis. If the natural oil coating, produced by the skin oil glands, is removed then this can lead to cracking and then in turn to inflammation.
Xerosis is usually a long-term problem that recurs often, especially in the winter. Long hot baths, harsh soaps and cold winter weather worsens dry skin problems.
Dry skin treatment is intended to restore the natural oil to your skin
Below are some treatment suggestions:
* Dry skin treatment involves keeping the skin lubricated. Do not take more than one shower a day and use lukewarm water as hot water causes more dry skin.
* When toweling dry don’t rub the dry skin, rather blot the skin so there is still some water left on the skin.
* Dry skin is irritated by soap, use soap that contains a moisturizer. Dry skin responds well to Cetaphil soap, Oil of Olay, Dove or Basis.
* If you like to swim during the winter months, rinse off the chlorine with cool to warm water so that the dry skin is well treated.
* Use an emollient liberally on dry skin. Apply it thick especially on dry itchy skin. Dry skin is usually a long term problem that recurs often, especially in winter. If the itchy dry skin returns, use the lubricating routine regularly.
In addition, it is good to use products specifically designed for dry skin treatment. See our recommended products and suppliers below for dry skin treatments.

Estrogens and It’s Impact on Anti-aging Skin Care

Often after the menopause it is noticed that women begin to age faster.
Wrinkles spread rapidly, skin quickly loses elasticity and smoothness. To a large degree this seems to result from the decline in estrogen levels after the menopause. Of all hormones that decline with age, estrogens have the most dramatic effect on the skin.
Estrogens are known to protect women from heart disease, and now it seems that they also slow down skin aging. Several studies indicate that postmenopausal women on estrogen replacement therapy develop less wrinkles and have better skin texture and elasticity than those not taking estrogens.
While going on estrogen replacement is a complex decision requiring the analysis of one’s medical history, women after menopause can get the skin benefits of estrogen with topical preparations. Dr. Schmidt and colleagues, from the University of Vienna Medical School, Austria, studied the effects of topical estrogen treatment with 0.01% estradiol or 0.3% estriol in 59 postmenopausal women. After 6 month of treatment, a marked improvement in skin elasticity and firmness was noted; wrinkle depth and pore size decreased by over sixty percent in both estradiol and estriol groups. Skin moisture and collagen synthesis increased significantly.
Many experts believe that estrogen creams could also improve the signs of aging in premenopausal women and in men although further studies are needed to confirm that.
